Kenai King 2007

Heidi from Texas fished with Kenai Outfitters to nail this 72 lb. Chrome bright King Salmon on the Kenai River. Heidi spent over 40 minutes down at the Mud Island Hole on the Kenai before we had an opportunity to get the net under this beauty. Heidi used a GLoomis, Shimano and Willie Boat to get this job done! Heidi received plenty of coaching from her husband Brooks and Guide Lee Young. Everyone on the boat gave Heidi an A+ for doing a fantasic job!! Kenai King 2007

The above five year old, 72 pound Kenai king salmon was caught by Mitch Lacomb of Colorado, when he was fishing with Johnson Brothers Guides and Outfitters in July, 2007.It was the largest fish of the season for us, so it turned out to be a very good day of fishing.
Mitch was fishing with us on the last day of the Kenai Rivers king season on 07/31/2007, when he hooked into this king. It took him 50 minutes to land and it cleared the water with 7 spectacular leaps before finally being
landed in the Kenai's Big Eddy Hole. The rod & reel we used was a HSR 983C, 8'-2", HeavyMag, EX- Fash Action, 14 - 30 lb., Loomis rod with a level-wind Shimano TR200G reel. The terminal tackle used was 200 yards of 30 lb. Trilene monofilament line. We were using a zero Spin-n-Glow lure with a #7 Gamakatsu single hook. He was hooked in the side of his upper left snout area.

Kenai Silver 2007

Todd McGinnis from Idaho caught this 21 pound silver salmon from the Kenai River on September 27, 2007 throwing a secret "spinner" in the McGinnis Hole. He was fishing with Steve McClure when he hooked up and Todd has been fishing the Kenai for about 10 years and this was the biggest coho that he has landed to date.

This fat 28 inch rainbow was caught in the Kenai by Allen Hingstin while fishing with Jimmie Jack in September 2007.
