AnnouncementsAs a new member benefit, the KRPGA will now be hosting web sites at a member discount of $75 per year. This is a great opportunity for members to save money and support the organization at the same time. If you are interested in hosting your web site with the KRPGA, submit your payment to the attention of Dave Goggia, KRPGA, P.O. Box 3674, Soldotna, Alaska 99669. Contact the KRPGA webmaster for additional details and to have your domain set up as soon as your payment has been processed. Coast Guard Inspection Day As we prepare for the 2008 season, one important aspect of our preparation is to ensure all of our boats are Coast Guard compliant. As in the past, the Coast Guard will be helping us out by having a “pre-season” inspection day to help individual guides ensure their vessels are in compliance with all the various Coast Guard safety requirements. This is an opportunity for Kenai River guides to have their boats inspected prior to getting underway and compliant vessels will be given a 2008 sticker to show they have participated in and passed this pre-season inspection. Displaying this sticker will not guarantee your boat will not be inspected “on the river” but if there are two boats side by side at the launch and your has a pre-season inspection sticker and the other does not, CG is more likely to inspect the “un-stickered” vessel. This is a great, no-pressure way to ensure you have all your safety items current and we are very lucky to have this opportunity. Hopefully many will take advantage of this annual collaborative event between KRPGA and USCG MSG in Kenai. Please be advised that CG Auxiliary will be doing inspections at Fred Meyer parking lot on the same day FOR PLEASURE BOATS ONLY so please do not get confused on the location of our inspections. As stated below, ours will be done at River and Sea Marine parking lot. This event will be held at the: River
and Sea Marine Parking Lot (corner of K-Beach and Sterling Hwy) For more information please contact: Mike

A special thanks to Jim McCormic who took a Make a Wish Kid fishing. Due to the efforts of several KRPGA members, there is now a brand new first-class stainless fish cleaning table at the Kasilof river put in COURTESY OF ADF&G (not state parks!) and that anyone coming in contact with Barry Stratton should personally thank him, as it was him personally that 'made this happen!'
